3 strategies to overcome perfectionism

Sometimes we get stuck thinking “I am only productive if I get EVERYTHING done on my to-do list” – while that could be true, how long is your list? Is that even reasonable to consider in one day?

We want to talk about the idea of moving away from black & white thinking or perfectionism. In other words: having more flexibility with our thoughts & actions.

Here are some strategies to change your perspective:

  1. REDEFINE “SUCCESS”

What does “productivity” or “success” mean to you? How can you shift that definition to be a little bit more aware of your needs and abilities?

  2. PRIORITIZE, PRIORITIZE, PRIORITIZE!

Think about which items on your to-do list you value the most - then decide how much time you want to spend on each, and make a list in order of importance.

  3. BE OKAY WITH B+ WORK
We can’t always do everything 100% perfectly - it’s not possible! So instead, prioritize the items you care about the most, and be okay if the rest of your to-do list isn’t exactly how you envisioned.

Remember: PROGRESS is better than PERFECT.

And you may be surprised to find that flexible thinking helps you accomplish more than you could without it! Need more support developing this skill? Join our upcoming Group Program, starting January 17th!
