Adult Success Story

MARY RECENTLY SHARED

“Before I started coaching with Life Solved, things were pretty messy. I felt really unable to emotionally regulate with regard to work and life stress. I had reached a breaking point that demanded my attention because these problems were interfering with work relationships and deeply affecting my self-esteem and sense of self-worth, as well as overall productivity.

I felt a lot of shame about my struggles, which was counterproductive and only contributed to the obstacles. I was not good at time management, task initiation, prioritization, and emotional regulation.

Through working with my Life Solved coach, I was really able to get my feelings of shame under control because of the safe, non-judgmental, supportive space she provided in coaching sessions. Mistakes and missteps were no longer a source of shame and self-loathing, but simply an opportunity to re-evaluate and start again, looking to see what small, manageable things we could do to get back on my feet and start again. We also developed a "toolbox" of things I could do to troubleshoot commonly-occurring problems, such as journaling, body-doubling, breaking down tasks into super small items (like "open the file" or "write one sentence"), reset behaviors like meditation or stretching, and much more.

Now, I feel much more in control of my time and emotions. Of course, I still struggle with emotional regulation and time management and procrastination, but the systems we put in place make it so much easier and less daunting and even more exciting to get back on track, and I can do it more quickly. I never feel at a loss as to what I can do to make things better and that's a really good feeling.

This process has empowered me. Knowing what to do when I'm facing a struggle, and feeling certain that the tools will actually be effective, has reduced "bounce back" time dramatically and generally made me feel more hopeful about improvement. Before working with my coach, I was very nearly convinced that there was nothing I could do that would get me the results I so badly wanted. While I still struggle with some of the same challenges, knowing what I can do to help myself get started again is very empowering and confidence-building.

I feel like I've been given a pathway to actually feel proud of myself for facing and overcoming challenges. I'm so grateful I reached out for help-- these are tools that will help me the rest of my life. It was so worth the investment!”
